In the Summer of 2018 our players traveled to Chicago to compete in the Kumbaya Chess Tournament, coming away with both individual and team trophies, including the Advanced Section’s tournament champion.

In the Windy City stormers explored Downtown Chicago, Millenium Park, took a ride on Navy Pier’s Centennial Wheel, toured the Dusable Museum and ate some famous Chicago deep dish pizza.

With a group of young inspiring Engineers and Computer Scientist, our players had a blast at the Numbers in Nature exhibit and the Mirror Maze.

A CHESS LESSON IN GLENWOOD, IL

Our young players had an opportunity to test their abilities and learn from a great group of men. We won’t tell all of what happened, but as one of the Glenwood Chess Club brothers said, “They came in looking like sweet children, but they were really assassins!” We all entered as strangers, but left as a family.
