  • Thank you for your interest in enrolling in A Step Ahead Chess. We appreciate your consideration, and we're happy to provide you with more information about our upcoming programs.

    Here is a direct link to register in the once a week option.

    While the lessons are virtual, we have a hybrid model. Included in your child’s membership, they can participate with our club monthly for free at in-person tournaments through our partnership with the Chicago Chess Foundation. These tournaments provide a great opportunity for our players to practice their skills in person, and we provide several coaches who work with our players in between games.

  • Welcome emails and meeting links are delivered immediately after registration. Please check your inbox and promotional folders, and add help@astepaheadchess.org to your contact list to ensure you do not miss any important updates.

  • Yes! You will receive a 50% discount for every child you enroll after the first child. You’ll need to submit separate orders, and enter the discount code SIBLING at checkout for the 2nd child and again for any additional child.

  • Absolutely, ASAC offers lessons to students starting from Kindergarten up to high school. Here is a link on how to get started with registration. If you have any additional question or concerns, please let us know.

  • Yes! The monthly membership subscription can be cancelled at anytime with 30 days notice.

  • New members can enroll any time as long as we are in season. Please check the calendar on our home page for season dates.

  • While there are registration fees for ASAC hosted tourneys, your membership includes FREE entry to compete with our club monthly at Chicago Chess Foundation Tournaments.

  • Please wait 24 - 48 hours to receive confirmation of enrollment and instructions on what your child needs before joining us. Your child’s first lesson will be the following week after you sign up.

  • There is a waitlist available here! Please complete the waitlist form immediately and subscribe to our mailing list. Information on new openings this term will be given on a first come, first serve basis.

  • Once you are back online, you will be reverted to our Main Room. From here, your child can rejoin their original breakout room.

  • Yes. Participants in the breakout rooms can request assistance by clicking the Ask for Help button in the menu bar.

Refunds and Billing

  • YES! 🥳A Step Ahead Chess is happy to offer make-up days for missed instruction. The make-up day can occur during any week/day during the current chess season. Please email help@astepaheadchess.org to notify our team of your student’s selected make-up date.

  • Our current system processes refunds in approximately 5-10 business days.

  • For any and all inquiries regarding billing and refunds, please contact our help team at help@astepaheadchess.org. Our team is happy and prepared to assist you in any way we can!

  • Yes! Please know that you are able to pause your subscription at any time. Please email help@astepaheadchess.org to notify our team that you wish to pause your subscription and we’ll take care of the rest! 😎
