Coach London

London Purnell was born and raised on the South Side of Chicago. She is an educator and advocate for children’s growth.

London has dedicated her life to nurturing and educating children since 2013. Her journey began in home daycare settings before transitioning to daycare centers. Over the years, her passion for teaching led her to run impactful programs in Chicagoland schools, collaborate on after-school and summer initiatives with organizations such as 530 Scholars and Something to Build Upon Inc., and ultimately serve as a teacher’s aide at Bronzeville Classical.

She finds immense joy in teaching, not only in helping students grasp new concepts but also in learning from them in return. Her experience with the A Step Ahead Chess (ASAC) program has been a highlight of her career. For nearly a year, she has immersed herself in the art of play-based learning and been inspired by her students' creativity and curiosity.

London’s dedication to fostering meaningful connections with her students and ensuring their growth reflects her deep commitment to creating a supportive, enriching educational environment for every child she encounters.
