Coach Pranav

Pranav is currently a senior at Walter Payton College Prep. He began playing chess in the 2nd grade with his brother and father. While he knew how to play at a young age, it wasn’t until the lockdown that he started to play more consistently, continuing even after returning to school.

Since his sophomore year, Pranav has been involved with A Step Ahead Chess, starting as a student and gradually transitioning into a coach. He enjoys learning and applying chess tactics, but what he loves most is watching students use those tactics in their own games. Pranav is passionate about the complexity of chess and aims to pass that passion on to as many students as he can.
