Coach Jarod Glover

Jarod Glover was born and raised in Kernersville, North Carolina, where he grew up playing soccer and running track. Coach Glover was introduced to the game of chess when he was young and would play matches against his older brother's high school chess club members. Jarod would eventually attend the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics in Durham.

Coach Glover received a Computer Science degree from Tufts University, where he continued playing soccer and won a National Championship. Coach Glover was also a part of student organizations such as Athletes of Color to help develop a sense of community amongst those who were often a minority on their teams.

Since then, he has been working for Verb Energy on their Engineering team and their BJEDI diversity and inclusion group within the company, where he looks to continue to help develop a sense of community internally and externally while expanding his coding skills. Coach Glover is looking to bring back his love for the game while assisting students in finding theirs.
