The A Step Ahead Chess Family is Excited to Announce Georgios as our March 2022 Student of the Month! Georgios recently gained the honor of 1st place in the K-3 category of the Chicago Chess Federation (CCF) tournament. Georgios has also achieved the undefeated distinction in 2 of the 4 tournaments he has played. Moreover, he has also placed in the top 5 in the intermediate category in CCF. In the 2022 Illinois K-8 State Championship, Georgios was undefeated and ranked 2nd amongst the 2-3 graders’ category. He also came in 5th place in the 2022 Greater Chicago K-12 Championship, K-3 Championship Category.

Beyond Chicago Chess Foundation sponsored tournaments, Georgios has also helped his team and school place in the top 10 in the 2022 Illinois State Tournament.

Off the Chess board, Georgios plays soccer and represented his class in the school spelling bee.

The ASAC Coaching team has enjoyed watching Georgios grow in his ability to think critically, analyze situations, and develop mature problem-solving skills. Georgios family reports that he looks beyond the problem at hand to find possibilities in challenges.
