Hannah Roeh
The A Step Ahead Chess Family Celebrates Students who have superseded the standards of chess and academic excellence.
ASAC is proud to announce the recent victories and accomplishments of our very own, Hannah Roeh. Hannah placed 3rd in the intermediate division for the A Step Ahead Chess Championship IV Tournament. The only girl player to win a Chess Championships trophy, Hannah cultivated her awesome chess skills throughout 2020. In her virtual chess lessons, she exuded a passion for chess that she now shares with those around her. Whether Hannah is playing a friendly game of chess in the park or competing in a virtual tournament, she is excited to share her love of chess with everyone she encounters.
Beyond the Board, Hannah serves as both a senator and class representative in the Student Congress. She is also a member of her school’s Eagle Club, which aims to honor students who exhibit excellent character, attendance, and grades. Hannah has also recently joined the debate team and just finished her 1st debate tournament. Hannah and her family are excited to share that the critical thinking skills she developed through chess have helped her in both debate and academics.
The culmination of Hannah’s ambition, academic achievements, and ability to apply chess skills to the world around her make Hannah Roeh our October Student of the Month.
