The A Step Ahead Chess Family Celebrates Students who have superseded the standards of chess and academic excellence.

 The A Step Ahead Chess Family is excited to announce Jaden Walker as our December 2021 Student of the Month! Over the past year, playing chess has had a huge impact on Jaden. He has been able to focus and apply his energy in a positive light, as well as connect with other students at school and around the world. He has learned critical thinking skills, the element of competition, and the importance of sportsmanship. With this, Jaden notes that chess has aided him with his problem solving skills, critical thinking skills, self-confidence, decision making, and ability to communicate with others. Outside of being an awesome chess competitor, Jaden has earned his Deputy black belt in taekwondo, PR’d in the 50m freestyle (swim), and won in the advanced section of the A Step Ahead Chess Champion Tournament.
