Tamara Reed Tran

Tamara (Tammy) received her bachelors degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago, with a double major in African American Studies and Communications. She serves as Marillac St. Vincent Family Services (MSV) Chief Development Officer. In this role, she provides overall leadership and strategic oversight for all aspects of MSV’s fundraising, marketing and communications efforts. 

Tammy has over 20 years of fundraising and marketing experience in the nonprofit arena, helping organizations grow revenue, increase brand recognition, and develop enduring relationships with community stakeholders. During this time, Tammy supported advancement efforts for Impact for Equity(formerly BPI), UCAN, The Family Institute at Northwestern University, Dystonia Medical Foundation, Rush University Medical Center and Volunteers of America of Illinois.

Tammy currently serves as Board Chair for two nonprofit organizations, Just Roots Chicago and Wisdom Knot. She also sits on the boards of Literary Legacies and Peace Runners 773 and is an Advisory Board Member for the Chicago Foundation for Women-Willie Warriors Leadership Initiative and is an Advisory Council Leader for A Step Ahead Chess. In the Past, she chaired the Executive Women’s Committee of the Metropolitan Club, and while in that role, she hosted a series of talks, American Women Galvanizing, designed to address the needs of women in the Chicagoland area. Additionally, she, along her husband Matt, co-authored two books for children aged 3-5. Tammy is a happily married mother of 2 and a grandmother of one. The most recent addition to her household is a feisty poodle named Tom.
